I honestly didn’t know what to expect from my first fan-con, but I was expecting that it’d be like a shorter concert, and I was right! Anyway, after seeing ATEEZ in New York on Saturday, I decided to check out CHUU’s 2024 Strawberry Rush Fan-Con at the Town Hall in Manhattan before I left home to go back to Texas.
The Town Hall was an indoor venue, much like the P1Harmony concert I attended back in May in Dallas. Thankfully, this time around, there weren’t nearly as many screaming fans directly into my ears, so the noise levels were nowhere as deafening.

CHUU opened up with songs like “Hitchhiker,” “Chocolate,” “Lucid Dream,” “My Palace,” and “Aliens“, but what I appreciated about this fan-con was that it was a much more intimate experience with CHUU. Since her solo catalog is much shorter than LOONA’s, she made it up with fan interactions.
After performing her opening songs, she opened up a segment called Ask CHUU where attendees before the fan-con wrote down requests on post-it notes for CHUU to read. She also took this opportunity to practice her English, and read a bunch of personal questions. Through this, we learned that her favorite American food included pizzas, hamburgers, and French fries (of course), as well as her favorite New York-specific joint was Joe’s Pizza.
The rest of the fan-con went on as usual, with her performing “Daydreamer,” “Honeybee,” “Strawberry Rush,” and “Howl.” She even performed LOONA’s most popular song, “Heart Attack,” and closed out with “Underwater.”
Honestly, I liked this much shorter fan-con and I didn’t feel exhausted at the end like I do at most regular concerts. It’s definitely a sign for me to attend more of them in the future. I’m really glad to see CHUU thriving on her own as a soloist, especially given all of the drama with Blockberry Creative. And “Strawberry Rush” still remains one of my favorite singles of 2024!
