Recently, Yiren, a member of the girl group EVERGLOW, shocked fans when she revealed that she has never received any payments from her agency, Yuehua Entertainment, since the group’s debut in 2019. She disclosed this information through messages on the Bubble platform, where idols directly interact with their fans.
Yiren’s Heartbreaking Revelation
In her messages to fans, Yiren expressed sadness, admitting that although EVERGLOW has achieved success with comebacks, album sales, and concerts, she has yet to receive any income due to unresolved financial settlements with the company.
She shared:
I love the stage very much but in a sense I have zero income, but I don’t want to give up this career? In reality we haven’t settled yet, not once.
So, the tour is really what we want to show our fans, and we are working hard to prepare. But I’m sorry that there are no new songs and performances to show everyone hahaha.
Yiren also mentioned that the group is currently preparing for an upcoming tour in an effort to repay fans’ support.
Fans Outraged Over Unpaid Earnings
As soon as Yiren’s revelation surfaced, fans expressed their outrage and raised serious concerns about Yuehua Entertainment’s financial management. The fact that a group that has been active for over six years has not received any earnings has left many people frustrated.

On social media, fans demanded transparency from the company and questioned whether EVERGLOW was burdened with excessive trainee debt, preventing the members from receiving their rightful payments.
Will Yuehua Entertainment Respond?
As of now, Yuehua Entertainment has not released any official statements regarding this issue. Fans are eagerly waiting for the company to clarify the group’s financial situation and provide transparency regarding EVERGLOW’s contract terms.

Yiren faced criticism for supporting cotton production in Xinjiang. After that, she left South Korea for China due to academic reasons, leaving EVERGLOW to promote as a five-member group. After nearly a year of absence, she officially returned to the group on August 18, 2023. When asked about her time in China, Yiren shared that she felt both happy and challenged

Yiren’s case has once again sparked discussions about financial fairness in the K-pop industry. Should stronger protections be implemented to ensure idols are properly compensated for their hard work?
