According to OSEN on the afternoon of April 8, Nancy has been cast in the new movie “Pig Valley” and is preparing for her role. This marks her first official appearance as an actress on the big screen.
“Pig Valley” is an action-thriller film set in Texas, USA. The story follows Hammer, a former professional boxer, as he goes after a bag of money tied to a criminal organization. Ma Dong-seok is in charge of planning, original story, production and will also star as the lead. Although entirely produced and planned in Korea, all dialogue will be in English, targeting a global audience.
This film is expected to be a major milestone for Nancy, marking her full-fledged transition into acting. Although she once briefly acted in a web music drama in 2017, this will be her first serious dramatic role.
Nancy, known for her fluent English from debut, is well-suited for the role. Her father is American and served in the military, and she spent her childhood living in the U.S. and the U.K. Fans are looking forward to how she will showcase her language skills in this English-only film.
Nancy debuted as the youngest member of MOMOLAND in November 2016, gaining massive popularity for her doll-like visuals and hit songs like “BBoom BBoom”, “BAAM” and “Thumbs Up”. However, in January 2023, all members ended their contracts with the agency, effectively disbanding the group after seven years of activity. After that, Nancy signed an exclusive contract with ATOC in September last year and has been pursuing a solo career.
Meanwhile, “Pig Valley” will be directed by Lee Sang-yong, who helmed “The Roundup” and “The Roundup: No Way Out” (both 10-million-ticket box office hits). It is co-produced by Big Punch Pictures and Nova Film, with Plus M Entertainment handling investment and distribution.
