Former VCHA member KG has accused JYP Entertainment’s subsidiary, JYP USA, of abuse. On December 7, KG announced her departure from the group on Instagram, revealing she had filed a lawsuit for mistreatment. She claimed staff’s abusive behavior led to serious consequences for other members, including a suicide attempt and self-harm.
On December 8, JYP USA denied KG’s allegations, claiming she left the group’s residence in May 2024 and they had tried to resolve the issue with her representatives but received no response. They called her claims “false and exaggerated.”
In light of this incident, some industry insiders believe KG’s personal issue shouldn’t be seen as a wider problem in K-Pop, arguing her claims are too vague.
KG has now responded to JYP Entertainment’s statement with strong words of her own.
She expressed deep disappointment in what she called JYP USA’s “lack of accountability.”
In particular, KG emphasized that the company has not taken responsibility for its actions, despite the serious allegations she made. She also reassured the public that she and her legal team are fully prepared to support her claims with solid evidence. This includes photographic and physical proof to back up everything she has said.
KG made it clear that her fight is not only for herself but also for her former VCHA members and all K-Pop idols and trainees who are going through similar struggles. She hopes to bring attention to the mistreatment many face in the industry and to push for better treatment for everyone involved in K-Pop. Her message was not just about her personal experience but also about making lasting changes in the K-Pop industry to protect others.
Below is KG’s full response:
I am very disappointed in the company’s lack of accountability. My legal team and I are fully prepared with photographic and physical evidence to prove my allegations are factual, not “exaggerated” nor “false.”
Thank you to the public for your unwavering support. Please treat both sides with kindness, as this is a difficult time for everyone.
I will continue to fight for better treatment of K-pop idols and trainees, in which I promise to speak nothing but the truth. I hope by coming forward, other trainees, idols, and group members can be encouraged to use their voice, in order to make positive changes in the K-pop industry.
Meanwhile, Mischa Salkin and Cristina Lopez, who appeared on the reality show “A2K”, which formed VCHA, has expressed their support for KG.
In particular, the two former contestants shared photos featuring KG with themselves and captioned those with words of encouragement.
“I stand with you ma. So so proud of you for speaking out!!!”, Cristina wrote, while Mischa said, “Love and support you so much KG”,
