According to YG Entertainment on August 6, the tickets for 2NE1‘s “2024 2NE1 CONCERT [WELCOM BACK] IN SEOUL” were all sold out on Oct. 5 and 6 as soon as reservations started on Oct. 5. During the process, 400,000 people logged in simultaneously to make reservations. In the end, fans are complaining about YG’s questionable choice of revenue.
The concert of 2NE1 was not limited to 2NE1’s official fanclub members. In addition, a person can buy up to four tickets and ticket fees can be easily paid by direct deposit. Therefore, it is understandable that many people want to buy the tickets. However, the Olympic Hall, where 2NE1 hosts this performance, can accommodate only 3,000 to 4,000 spectators, further intensifying the competition for “ticketing.”
The last concert by 2NE1 before its disbandment in 2014 was held at the SK Handball Stadium in Olympic Park. The venue can accommodate around 14,000 people.
Not only is it 2NE1’s 15th anniversary of its debut, but it is also its first group activity in eight years since its disbandment, so there are growing calls for a larger concert hall and additional concerts.
The members of 2NE1 also failed to get tickets. In the video clip released by CL, the members of 2NE1 tried ticketing themselves and commented, “There’s no way there’s no spare seat,” “Why can’t I make a reservation?” and “Isn’t the computer weird?”
