Fans have put up banners (placards) celebrating Jin’s discharge everywhere to deliver messages, such as “Left, right, left, right!!! Sergeant Kim Seok-jin is going to be discharged!!!”, “Special warrior Kim Seok-jin who deserves love from the whole world and support from the universe”, “Let’s be with ARMY forever”, “I’m rooting for Jin, who is going to run forward again”, etc.

There’s also a large banner with Jin’s face and a congratulatory message, saying “Seok-jin, you did a great job for 548 days. We’ll be on your side with our unchanging love”, on the wall of the cafe across from the boot camp.

An employee from the cafe said to Daily Sports, “The banner has been put up since June 5th at the request of BTS fans”, adding “I understand the special feelings and thoughts of fans for Jin so I didn’t charge them”.

Accordingly, Jin visited the cafe several times with fellow soldiers and officers while serving in the military. This employee also revealed Jin’s healthy condition during the service period, emphasizing how the male singer put aside his “global superstar” status and formed close bonds with other soldiers as an ordinary Korean young man.

Enlisting on December 13th, 2022, Jin will be discharged after 18 months of service on June 12th. Although Jin has been arousing keen attention throughout his military service period, Jin decided to not hold any discharge ceremony and will immediately prepare for 2024 FESTA event scheduled on the next day.

BTS will hold 2024 FESTA event at Seoul Sports Complex on June 13th to celebrate their 11th debut anniversary. As part of the event that day, Jin will officially announce his discharge in front of 4000 ARMYs at Jamsil Indoor Stadium. Unable to join the celebratory event last year, Jin decided to hold the event this year with his ideas as he wanted to spend meaningful time with fans.

Details on Jin’s activities after discharge have not been revealed but there is a high possibility that he will make a solo comeback in the second half of 2024. Before enlisting, he already released his first solo single “The Astronaut” in October 2022 and performed it at Coldplay’s concert in Argentina. Since BTS members except for Jin have all released solo albums, he is expected to present more active music promotions after his discharge.
