Recently, the story of G-Dragon assisting a fan has gained renewed attention. The story comes from a sasaeng fan, a group often viewed negatively by both the public and idols. She recounted how G-Dragon came to her rescue while she was stalking celebrities, “I was assaulted by my boyfriend in front of a celebrity when I was a sasaeng.”
Below is her full story:
“In the past, when I was young and foolish, I was a sasaeng fan and would wait for my idol until early morning. I ignored all the messages from my boyfriend… Around 3 or 4 in the morning, I had stayed up all night waiting for my idol, but my boyfriend followed me and tried to pull me away. I didn’t listen to him, so he physically pushed me. He had a bad habit of hitting me.
But at that moment, my idol appeared. He had just returned to the dorm. He saw me being pushed by my boyfriend. Back then, I did a lot of sasaeng things, so he must have recognized me. Normally, he would completely ignore me, but that day, he stood right in front of me.
- GD: “Use your words.”
- Boyfriend: “Oh, that’s not it; I was just taking her away.”
- GD: “Use your words instead of hitting her.”
- Boyfriend: “I’m not hitting her; why would I hit my girlfriend?”
- GD: “You just hit her!”
- (And then G-Dragon turned to ask me)
- GD: “Did he hit you?”
- Fan: “I’’m sorry??..”
- GD: “Just take a taxi and go home. Don’t come out this late again.”
So I took a taxi home. When I looked out the window, just as the taxi pulled away, I saw him walking into the dorm without even looking at my boyfriend once. I gave up being a sasaeng, but that moment was so precious; it felt like a dream.”
