(G)I-DLE’s Soyeon “Performance About ‘Contract Termination’ Wasn’t a Lie + I Felt Cube’s Shortcomings Again”

She stated, “I feel that this was another opportunity to realize the shortcomings of our company.”

On August 6th, Jeon Soyeon took to her SNS to share her thoughts, saying, “Having gone through so much together for over 10 years, I don’t hold negative feelings towards the company just by reading the articles in the media. However, words can be easily misunderstood and can change the intention if conveyed incorrectly.”

She added, “I hope that the uncomfortable emotions like worry or resentment may ease a little, as I will also try to grow and develop together.”

Jeon Soyeon explained, “My first concern is always how to bring joy to people, and my second concern is how to make our team happier. Sometimes, this leads to moments that may seem too provocative, or projects that don’t receive positive reactions, but I never intentionally lie, try to harm someone or do anything that would make me feel guilty.”

She further clarified, “This recent performance was not a lie, nor did I feel the need to hide it from the company. It was a stage that we all created together, with numerous rehearsals in front of everyone.”

Jeon Soyeon concluded by saying, “I’ll work harder so you don’t have to worry. Neverland (fandom name), I’m always sorry, grateful and I love you.”

Previously, during (G)I-DLE’s third world tour “2024 (G)I-DLE WORLD TOUR [iDOL] IN SEOUL” held at KSPO DOME in Seoul on August 3rd, Jeon Soyeon performed a solo stage that included a rap with the lyrics, “Contract ends in November. Who can stop me?

This led to speculation that Jeon Soyeon might leave the agency after her contract expires in November. Cube Entertainment later clarified, saying it was “just a performance“.
