After a string of girl group disbandments and/or drama during my “break”, it was nice to see things reversed this time around. During her acceptance speech for Record Of The Year at the 2024 Melon Music Awards, Soyeon of (G)I-DLE announced that they’re all renewing their contracts with Cube Entertainment, “Rumors about me alone ending my contract, about (G)I-DLE disbanding, came out so much. Not just me alone but all members renewed. Before going on stage, we talked. It’s all five of us. Next year, the year after, forever—all five. Good music will repay you. I will work harder.”

So, that’s clears things up amidst a lot of understandable concern about the group’s future.
Of course, based on what (G)I-DLE fans have said about the company there’s some debate about whether continuing with Cube is a good thing, but if nothing else, it does mean they’ll be sticking together at least.
