On the afternoon of December 16, an official from Go Hyun-jung’s side told media outlet Star News, “Go Hyun-jung went to the emergency room today and will not be attending the ‘Namib’ press conference’“, adding that the actress has been experiencing instances of poor health while on set.
However, regarding the detailed diagnosis, the official said, “We don’t know about such information yet, but I don’t think she wants to reveal the details”.
Meanwhile, earlier on the same day, the production team of Genie TV’s original drama “Namib” (written by Eom Sung-min, directed by Han Sang-jae and Kang Min-gu) announced that Go Hyun-jung would not be attending the drama’s press conference.
Go Hyun-jung was originally scheduled to join fellow cast members Ryeoun, Yoon Sang-hyun and Lee Jin-woo to introduce the drama during the event.
The “Namib” production team stated, “Actress Go Hyun-jung will not be attending today’s (December 16) ‘Namib’ press conference, which was scheduled for 2 PM, due to a sudden decline in her health. Based on medical advice received this morning, which emphasized the need for absolute rest and recovery, her absence was an unavoidable decision.“
“We would like to apologize to the reporters who took the time to come to the event, and ask for your generous understanding”, they also stated.
On the other hand, the K-drama “Namib” follows the story of Kang Soo-hyun (played by Go Hyun-jung), a fired star producer, and Yoo Jin-woo (played by Ryeoun), a dropped long-term trainee, as they come together to pursue their respective goals. The drama is set to premiere on December 23.
