Actor Gong Seung-yeon and Roh Sang-hyun are in final talks to appear alongside IU and Byeon Woo-seok in the highly anticipated MBC drama “21st Century Grand Prince’s Wife.” (tentative title)
According to a report from Hankyung.com on April 4, Gong Seung-yeon has received an offer to join the cast and is in the final stages of consideration. Her agency, Varo Entertainment, confirmed, “She has received the offer and is positively reviewing it.”
On the same day, a representative from Noh Sang-hyun’s agency, Eco Global Group, officially stated to OSEN, “It is true that we received an offer for ’21st Century Grand Prince’s Wife’ from the production team. However, we have neither confirmed participation nor are we in positive discussions about it. At present, it remains under review with nothing finalized.”
The drama, previously known by its working title “21st Century Grand Prince’s Wife,” is generating significant buzz with its confirmed lead cast. IU will take on the role of Sung Hee-joo, a frustrated chaebol heiress grappling with societal expectations. Byeon Woo-seok will play Grand Prince Lee An, the second son of the king who seemingly has it all, except genuine happiness. Described as a romance centered on breaking social barriers, the drama promises to deliver a fresh twist on love and class dynamics.
However, the project has not been without complications. The production has reportedly faced multiple delays, and its broadcast schedule remains unclear.
