‘Good Partner’ Actors Ji Seung-hyun and Kwak Shi-yang Issue Public Apologies for Their Villainous Role

Kwak Shi-yang appeared in the SBS Friday-Saturday drama ‘Good Partner‘ on Sep 6th and 7th, playing Cheon Hwan-seo, the chairman of the Cheon Medical Foundation. He portrayed a domestic violence husband who tortured and assaulted his wife, leading to her death, which was shocking to viewers.

He continued his villainous behavior by strangling and threatening Cha Eun-kyung (Jang Nara). Ultimately, his character was sentenced to 15 years in prison, providing a sense of satisfaction to the audience.

Previously, Ji Seung-hyun, who also played an unfaithful husband, had issued a public apology video. He said, “I am truly sorry. First, I extend my sincere apologies to Cha Eun-kyung, who was hurt by my infidelity in the drama. When I say ‘sincere,’ I mean deeply sincere.” 

He continued, “I also offer my heartfelt apologies to Choi Sa-ra, my partner in the drama’s infidelity. I committed the unforgivable act of ‘living a double life.’”

Lastly, Ji Seung-hyun added, “I am also sorry to the viewers. I understand that there have been strong reactions because of my portrayal, and some have said they feel like they’re going to choke. I apologize for that as well.”
