Season one continues to grow in popularity as well.

“The first season of ‘Gyeongseong Creature’ has also seen a resurgence in viewership as fans re-watch the original series ahead of the new season’s release. The series even made its way back onto Netflix’s “Top 10 in Korea Today” list,” ‘Allkpop’ reports.

The message behind the series touches on the past and present.

“‘Gyeongseong Creature’ is not just about the historical pain of a particular time but about the pervasive fascism that has existed throughout history and still lingers today,” the production team recently told the press, according to a report from ‘Forbes.’

They added, “The story explores how violence and power subjugate the weak, how sacrifices are falsely justified for the ‘greater good,’ and how the normalization of such sacrifices can turn anyone into a monster. Power without humanity has always left horrific scars on human history, and the creature in the series embodies this very message. The series focuses on the stories of those who confront these moral boundaries.”

‘Gyeongseong Creature’ is about Seoul residents fighting a creature who was created from biological experiments. This season follows Park Seo Joon and Han So Hee as they explore abandoned connections, destiny, and discord in Gyeongseong. The horror series is currently available for streaming on Netflix.
