Gyeongseong Creature Season 2 Review

Season 2 of Gyeongseong Creature takes us to the present day in Seoul, which is very different from the city we saw in Season 1. With no freedom struggles, and being a technologically advanced country, the scene is different, but the hidden dangers still lurk under this beautiful place. The show opens with Jang Tae-sang returning to the old treasure house building, but he is not the person we know.

However, a reunion awaits him with a person he once lost. As the story progresses, we see what happened to him and what brought him to the 21st century. As the story progresses, it takes the viewers through an emotional rollercoaster with the beloved couple from season 1- Jang Tae-sang and Yoon Chae-ok. Bringing satisfaction at the right time, the plot will hold onto you without leaving a moment of boredom.

The story has almost no fillers and keeps you engaged throughout the entirety of the show, and almost stuck to your screens. While the satisfaction of the couple coming together is endearing, it is the revelation of the real villain that steals the show. We can only say that she will steal the spotlight with her appearance and everything will fall into place.

As the show progresses, we also get the satisfaction of understanding what happened to our lead couple back when they infiltrated the hospital and the events after that. The revelation on who drank that glass of water with the najin doesn’t come as very dramatically as expected but like a little slip of a note. While it fits in well with the eventful season, it does leave us a little disappointed.

Meanwhile, seeing how Tae-sang finds himself in these times is not a happy scene and almost makes you want to cry with how well Park Seo-joon performs in the said scene. He along with the members of the treasure house will leave you reaching for some tissues and creates quite the impact on viewers.

On the other hand, the action scene with him and Han So-hee brings an energy that only heightens our expectations for the rest of the show. And with the additional monsters in the show, it only gets better as the duo struggles to survive against them as well as the monster within them. The actors bring out their best performances throughout the show, and we feel their emotions clearly in every episode.

Another thing that captures our attention is the scale to which the najin project has developed on the lands of the old hospital. In a way, Tae-sang’s efforts in the past have only failed as the “bad guys” continue to rise in ways he would have never imagined. And it only gets worse according to the end credit scene, with suggestions of a new season that is sure to be even more dramatic.

Altogether, the season is intense, amazing, and worth being the sequel to the show. With every moment that feels eventful, the show has made sure to keep you engaged. While some expectations from season 1 are not met, we are still satisfied with the way the plot progresses.
