According to TenAsia on October 31st, while Han So-hee has been known as a 1994-born, she is actually a 1993-born and is currently 31 years old. Han So-hee is known to be a close friend of actress Jeon Jong-seo in the entertainment industry, but it turns out she is actually a year older.
Through her agency 9ato Entertainment, Han So-hee explained why she had to live as a 1994-born instead of her actual birth year of 1993. This was due to her mother’s fraud allegations. During elementary school, Han So-hee could not attend school normally due to her mother’s fraud allegations, and she resumed her studies a year later.
Han So-hee shared with TenAsia, “When I was about to start fourth grade, I was forced to go to Ulsan because my mother was wanted by the police. I spent a year at home without schooling and returned to Wonju to re-enroll in fourth grade after my mother was imprisoned.” Consequently, she spent her school years with peers born in 1994, which continued into her entertainment career.
Han So-hee’s mother, Ms. Shin, is currently incarcerated. Ms. Shin was arrested on September 3rd for operating illegal gambling websites at 12 internet cafes in Wonju, Gangwon Province from December 2022 to August this year.
Regarding this, Han So-hee’s agency 9ato Entertainment stated, “This was a deeply personal matter caused by her mother. Han So-hee herself is devastated upon hearing about it, and we stress again that this incident is entirely her mother’s independent action, unrelated to the actress. We apologize for sharing such uncomfortable news unrelated to her work.”
Meanwhile, Han So-hee is active in various fields. Her drama “Gyeongseong Creature 2” was released on Netflix on September 27th. Additionally, she made her screen debut in the film “Heavy Snow” (directed by Yoon Soo-ik), where she received praise for her emotional and nuanced portrayal of the high-teen star “Seol”.
