‘I Don’t Think You Did Your Best…’

NewJeans Hanni expressed her frustrations directly to CEO Kim Joo Young, the one who replaced Min Hee Jin, with how she’s handling the case against Belift lab and ILLIT’s manager.

On October 15, the state audit of the National Assembly’s Environment & Labor Committee was held along with NewJeans Hanni as the witness of its topic, “Workplace Bullying and Harassment.”

On the same day, ADOR’s CEO Kim Joo Young appeared as a reference person and revealed what happened with the case against Belift Lab’s employee trying to discriminate against Hanni by telling ILLIT to “ignore” her.

During the questioning, Kim claimed that she immediately asked for the CCTV footage of the said incident (from HYBE) when she was informed about it on June 13th.

However, just like what was stated in Belift Lab’s official statement, the whole footage couldn’t be retrieved since the incident was passed HYBE’s CCTV retention period.

CEO Kim attested to attendees that she did her best but they couldn’t provide solid evidence, and added:

“Unfortunately, according to what I currently know internally our claims are conflicting. I believe Hanni’s words and claims, and I am also frustrated and trying to find supporting evidence. Sadly, I haven’t been able to secure (the CCTV footage).”

She once again claimed that she did her best but regretted areas she could have done better.

Hearing this, Hanni head-on called her out and protested:

“I’m sorry, but I don’t think you did your best.”

The “OMG” singer explained:

“There were a lot of things that she could have done, and she said from the start that she’ll protect us continuously, but to be able to do that, she would have fought. But she has no will to fight, no actions, no measures, and no will to do so, so I don’t think you can say that you did your best.”

Hanni then prompted ADOR’s CEO to do better and demanded:

“If I say that I want you to do your best in the future, it feels like we are just going to move past it, so I hope you resolve this issue quickly before we talk about the future.”
