Im Ji Yeon and Choo Young Woo’s The Tale of Lady Ok introduces drama’s characters

JTBC’s The Tale of Lady Ok dropped stills from script reading.

The Tale of Lady Ok tells the story of Ok Tae Young (Im Ji Yeon), a woman whose name, status, and husband are all fake, and Cheon Seung Hwi (Choo Young Woo), a storyteller who risked his life to protect her.

Im Ji Yeon plays Joseon’s greatest talent, Ok Tae Young. During the script reading, the actress gave a glimpse of her character, and the kind of life she leads, from a runaway slave to the fake Ok Tae Young. She expressed the tenacity of the slave Gu Deok and the cleverness and confidence of Ok Tae Young.

Choo Young Woo plays Cheon Seung Hwi, a professional storyteller who travels across the country reading novels aloud.

Meanwhile, Kim Jae Won comes as Sung Do Gyeom, the perfect young master from a noble family whom everyone in the village admires. He is Ok Tae Young’s brother-in-law.

Yeonwoo plays Cha Mi Ryung, who is learning under Ok Tae Young. She portrays a character who appears kind, confident, and cheerful on the surface but hides a secret that she cannot share with anyone.

Adding to the mix are seasoned actors such as Lee Jae Won (as Man Seok), Kim Jae Hwa (as Maxim), and Oh Dae Hwan (as Dokki).

Set in Joseon, where social status took precedence over human rights, The Tale of Lady Ok tells the story of those caught in the whirlwind of fate, as they stage a scam while dreaming of a new world.

The Tale of Lady Ok will premiere on November 30. More news about the K-drama’s global OTT platform is yet to come.
