On November 1st, Netflix released teaser posters, a teaser trailer, and promotional stills for “Squid Game 2,” heightening anticipation for the new season.
“Squid Game 2” follows the story of Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae), who returns to participate in the game seeking revenge, and his intense confrontation with the Front Man (Lee Byung-hun), along with the resumption of the real game.
The teaser poster captivates viewers with images of Gi-hun and the Front Man standing at opposite ends. Once again wearing the green tracksuit and bearing the number 456, Gi-hun’s appearance raises questions about what kinds of games and stories will unfold in season 2.
Standing at the forefront of 456 participants with a grave expression, Gi-hun’s appearance reminds viewers of his vow for revenge in the season 1 finale and builds anticipation for his counterattack.
Additionally, the Front Man, who returns from season 1 to face Gi-hun, catches the eye. With pink guards behind him, he finally reveals the face that was hidden behind the mask, sparking curiosity about both his role in season 2 and the narrative of In-ho that shocked viewers in season 1.
The simultaneously released teaser trailer begins with participants posing for photographs before the main game, accompanied by a cheerful mechanical voice saying “Smile.” Unlike season 1, where voting only occurred after the first game, a new rule is announced stating that votes will be held after each game to decide whether to continue, adding intrigue to season 2.
