The production team behind the I-LAND series, Girls Planet 999: Girl’s Battle, and Boys Planet has revealed details about a new boy group survival project for 2025. The second season of Boys Planet has officially been titled Boys II Planet and has announced its recruitment with a teaser video.
Scheduled to air in 2025, Boys II Planet will be produced and broadcast simultaneously in two different languages, based on the same format and universe. This will be the “world’s first K-POP twin project” where the groups will debut at the same time.
CJ ENM has consistently showcased fresh planning and producing expertise based on Mnet’s unique formats, and expectations are high for what the new project, produced as an Mnet original, will bring.
The Boys II Planet recruitment teaser was first revealed on November 22 at the 2024 MAMA AWARDS held at the Kyocera Dome Osaka. The teaser, which featured two people floating in space about to touch hands, conveyed the message: “Numerous worlds, but even if they can be copied, they cannot be the same. Two worlds where a single dream becomes reality.”
The first step in the K-POP global twin project will consist of Boys II Planet K and Boys II Planet C, which will be produced in Korean and Chinese, respectively. Kim Shin-young, the director of the previous Boys Planet and the overall producer for this season, stated, “The project is based on a multiverse concept,” adding, “Although this is a format that can infinitely expand globally, we have chosen Chinese, spoken by around 1.5 billion people, as the language for the first attempt.”
The production team continued, “It will be a journey to discover countless raw artists from all over the world, regardless of nationality. We hope you look forward to seeing how two groups, which will be formed through different programs within the same universe, will generate synergy when they finally become a complete group.”
The world’s first K-POP global twin project Boys II Planet allows applicants to choose between the K and C programs. Any boy born before January 1, 2012, regardless of nationality, can apply. The application period is from November 22 to January 26, 2025. Those who applied for the preliminary audition project PlanetB do not need to reapply.

2. …..
3. Booo 👎🏻
4. ZB1 is still promoting, why are they already doing this?
5. There are way too many survivals already
6. Stop these survival shows already
7. Isnt’ ZB1’s response quite mild even for a survival show…? Why do it again?
8. This is way too fast
9. They all seem like kids I’ve seen somewhere… How many survival shows are there now? If just gathering those eliminated from the 6 previous survival shows or so, wouldn’t that fill up 30 spots already?
10. It’s not as fun or emotional as before… And the current ZB1 group combinations are called a miracle? These days, there are so many people with no basic skills, and the visuals are really going downhill
