J.Y. Park Names TWICE and Stray Kids JYP’s Biggest Groups, But Agrees TWICE is Stronger

In a recent episode of BYOB Pocha, an online show hosted by g.o.d’s Joon Park and Fly to the Sky’s Brian Joo, JYP Entertainment founder J.Y. Park (also known as Park Jin Young) discussed his company’s biggest acts: TWICE and Stray Kids. Known for his ambitions to bridge Korean and American music, J.Y. Park recalled that he was once laughed at for trying to bring K-Pop to the U.S. But times have certainly changed, as Stray Kids recently ranked as the second-highest album seller in the U.S. last year, trailing only Taylor Swift.

When asked by Brian Joo which of JYP Entertainment’s artists he considered the “biggest,” J.Y. Park gave thoughtful consideration before naming TWICE and Stray Kids. However, he and the hosts agreed that, for now, TWICE remains the stronger of the two.

Brian: Out of all JYPE groups and artists which is the biggest for JYP?’

JYP: As far as profit?

Brian: Profit or popularity, anything, any category’

JYP: TWICE and Stray Kids

Joon: I think TWICE is pretty stronger than SKZ

JYP: Yeah, they’re selling out stadiums, they sold out SoFi

“They’re selling out stadiums,” J.Y. Park said, referencing TWICE’s massive success in the U.S., including their recent sold-out show at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles. The stadium, which seats over 70,000, is a major achievement for any international act, let alone a K-Pop group. Brian Joo’s reaction showed his surprise, as SoFi Stadium is an iconic venue typically reserved for artists at the peak of global fame. J.Y. Park’s acknowledgment of TWICE’s consistent stadium success speaks to their massive following and the role they’ve played in expanding K-Pop’s reach internationally.

However, Stray Kids is not far behind. Known for their powerful performances and dedicated fanbase, Stray Kids have also begun selling out stadiums globally. Their success in album sales and chart performance, especially in the U.S., points to their rapid ascent in the industry. Joon Park inquired about album sales, to which J.Y. Park confirmed that Stray Kids currently leads in that category within JYP Entertainment, underscoring the two groups’ different strengths: TWICE in stadium attendance and Stray Kids in album sales.

The conversation didn’t stop with TWICE and Stray Kids. J.Y. Park noted the rising popularity of DAY6, JYP’s first full-band K-Pop act. Known for their self-composed tracks and heartfelt performances, DAY6 is selling out concerts, indicating that JYP Entertainment’s roster is growing ever stronger.
