The Seoul Gangnam Police Station concluded its investigation into Jessi over accusations of intimidation and aiding the suspect’s escape, deciding not to forward the case.
The incident occurred in the early hours of September 28 in Apgujeong-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, when a minor fan approached Jessi for a photo and was allegedly assaulted by a man believed to be part of Jessi’s entourage. CCTV footage of the scene was aired on JTBC’s “Scandal Supervisor”, which showed Jessi appearing to briefly intervene before leaving. Some viewers criticized Jessi for allegedly neglecting her moral responsibility in the situation.
Following the incident, Jessi was sued on charges of intimidation and accused of aiding the suspect’s escape, prompting her to appear for questioning at the Seoul Gangnam Police Station on October 16.
After the investigation, however, the police found no evidence that Jessi was involved in the assault, issued threats or helped the suspect escape, leading to a decision not to proceed with charges.
Meanwhile, producer Koala, who allegedly threatened the minor fan, will face charges of assault. Additionally, the alleged assailant, a Taiwanese national identified as “A”, has reportedly left the country.
