Juice Seyeon Won Lawsuit Over YouTuber Spreading “Online Prostitute” Rumors of Her and Bang Si-hyuk

On December 19, Seoul Wire exclusively reported that on December 17, Judge Beth Labson of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California ruled in favor of Fruit Juice Se-yeon, allowing her to obtain evidence from Google for her defamation lawsuit.

Earlier in August this year, a photo of Bang Si-hyuk and Juice Se-yeon taken in Los Angeles circulated on various online communities, sparking numerous rumors.

Juice Se-yeon raised an issue with a video uploaded to YouTube in August, which falsely claimed that she had traveled to Las Vegas with Bang Si-hyuk. The YouTuber behind the video alleged that “Juice Se-yeon and Bang Si-hyuk traveled to Las Vegas together,” “Juice Se-yeon’s sister also joined the trip,” “Bang Si-hyuk provided Juice Se-yeon with a room at the Bellagio Hotel,” and that “Juice Se-yeon is an online prostitute.”

Juice Se-yeon argued that these false claims caused her severe emotional distress and loss of business opportunities. She requested Google to provide information that could identify the uploader of the video. The court approved Juice Se-yeon’s request, granting her access to the YouTuber’s personal information.

With this decision from the U.S. court, Juice Se-yeon plans to use the information obtained from Google to pursue further legal action in South Korea.

Juice Se-yeon had already filed a civil lawsuit against the YouTuber in the Seoul Central District Court. However, the case could not proceed due to the lack of information about the YouTuber’s identity. With the court ruling allowing the identification of the uploader, Juice Se-yeon is now set to take full-fledged legal action.
