Jung Hae-in Reveals Feelings When Compared to “Drug Scandal” Yoo Ah-in

On the afternoon of September 9, a press screening and media conference for the film “I, the Executioner” were held at CGV Yongsan I-Park Mall in Yongsan-gu, Seoul. The event was attended by director Ryoo Seung-wan, as well as actors Hwang Jung-min and Jung Hae-in.

When asked if he felt any pressure to follow in the footsteps of Yoo Ah-in’s character, Jo Tae-oh, from the previous installment (2015 film “Veteran”), Jung Hae-in responded, “The structure of evil in this film is different from the last one, so there was no character-related pressure. However, since the previous film was beloved by many, I did have some concerns about that.”

Regarding his performance, especially his eye expressions, Jung Hae-in mentioned, “In the beginning, the direction of my gaze was important. As a team member introduced midway, I tried to capture the characteristics of my teammates. From the latter part of the film, I had to act while wearing a mask and hat, which limited my facial expressions. I spent a lot of time thinking about how to express myself in such confined spaces.”

On the other hand, “I, the Executioner” is an action-crime investigation drama where the youngest detective, Park Sun-woo (played by Jung Hae-in), joins veteran detective Seo Do-cheol (played by Hwang Jung-min) to pursue a serial killer who has caused a nationwide stir. The film is scheduled to be released on September 13.

Meanwhile, Jung Hae-in is currently drawing attention via the ongoing K-drama “Love Next Door”, whilst Yoo Ah-in is facing a 1-year prison sentence for drug use.
