Amid speculation about their future due to their contract period coming to an end, it’s being reported that Kep1er will continue on as a seven-member group. Of course, they currently have nine members, but Yeseo and Mashiro will be joining up with their company 143 Entertainment‘s group LIMELIGHT instead, while Yujin, Xiaoting, Chaehyun, Dayeon, Hikaru, Bahiyyih, and Youngeun will become a permanent group.

Back in 2022, Kep1er formed as a part of Mnet’s Girls Planet 999 and was signed for two years and six months. They’ve seen declining album sales since debut, but are still a solidly mid-tier group, yet there were reports in April that Kep1er would not renew and would disband. Obviously now they will continue on and surely Swing Entertainment and WAKEONE are hoping that’ll help the momentum going into their upcoming Kep1going On album release.

Update

Apparently 143 is still in discussions about Yeseo and Mashiro joining or not, so those two may also continue.
