Slated for a 2025 release, I’m Human From Today (LT) is set to be a unique romantic comedy with a twist, exploring the story of a gumiho who refuses to become human and a world-renowned soccer star who inadvertently loses his greatest wish to the mystical creature.
This drama will be directed by Kim Jung-kwon, a visionary behind popular dramas like Maestra: Strings of Truth and Love To Hate You, known for his skillful and innovative direction.
The script is crafted by the talented writing duo Park Chan-young and Jo Ah-young, who previously worked on Best Chicken. Together, they promise to deliver a vibrant and engaging storyline that will captivate viewers. The production is handled by Binjiworks, a studio celebrated for creating imaginative and diverse works such as My Demon, Today’s Webtoon, and Mr. Queen, ensuring the series will be a polished and high-quality production.
One of the most anticipated aspects of the drama is the chemistry between the leads, Kim Hye Yoon and Lomon. Kim Hye-yoon, who gained immense popularity with her role in Lovely Runner, will take on the role of Eun-ho, an eccentric and carefree gumiho. Eun-ho is a character who relishes her eternal youth and picks and chooses the enjoyable aspects of the human world. She lives by accumulating small ‘vices’ rather than ‘virtues’, in case she ever becomes human, and avoids good deeds and romantic entanglements. However, her carefully curated life is thrown into chaos when an unexpected incident disrupts her existence.
Expressing her excitement about the project, Kim Hye Yoon said, “I am thrilled to be part of I’m Human From Today and to explore this new character. I hope viewers will look forward to seeing a different side of me and enjoy the journey we’re about to embark on together.”
On the other hand, Lomon will be transforming into Kang Si-yeol, a world-class soccer star who is both proud and ambitious. As a striker for a famous international club, Kang Si-yeol has achieved unparalleled success throughout his career, becoming a shining star who stands out even more than his team. Known as the ‘king of narcissism’, he fears losing his physical prowess, but his seemingly perfect life is turned upside down when he crosses paths with Eun-ho, the mischievous gumiho. Whether this encounter will lead to disaster or destiny remains to be seen.
Romon, who gained recognition through his roles in All of Us Are Dead and Revenge of Others, expressed his enthusiasm for this new challenge.
“I’m incredibly happy and excited to be working with such talented actors and a fantastic production team,” Romon shared. “Kang Si-yeol is a character with many layers and charms, and I’m eager to bring something new to the screen. I hope audiences will look forward to seeing a more mature side of me in this role.”
As the production kicks into high gear, the excitement continues to build for I’m Human From Today. With its fresh and intriguing premise, combined with a stellar cast and crew, the drama is poised to be a standout hit when it airs in 2025. Fans of both Kim Hye Yoon and Lomon, as well as lovers of romantic comedies with a twist, will undoubtedly be eagerly awaiting its premiere.
