It was confirmed on April 5 that the family of the late Kim Sae Ron held her 49th-day memorial service quietly at her undisclosed charnel house.
The family gathered that morning to pay their respects and pray for Kim Sae Ron’s peaceful repose, and they reportedly expressed gratitude to those who had supported the late actress.
In addition, Kim Sae Ron’s father and other family members shared their firm intention to continue protecting her honor moving forward.
Kim Sae Ron was found dead at her home in Seongsu-dong, Seoul on February 16. April 5 marked the 49th day since her passing—a significant day in Korean mourning tradition symbolizing the soul’s journey to the afterlife.
On this day, Kim Sae Ron’s close friend and fellow actress Kim Bo Ra also posted a tribute online, writing, “My youngest who hated the cold… And of course, it’s raining again. Don’t fall down, silly. Just accept this letter.”
Kim Sae Ron’s family has publicly alleged that she was in a relationship with Kim Soo Hyun from her minor years and claimed she had been under pressure to repay debt, releasing messages and statements from acquaintances and Sae Ron herself as evidence.
In response, Kim Soo Hyun held a press conference on March 31, firmly denying all such allegations and has filed a 12 billion KRW lawsuit against Kim Sae Ron’s family.
