On October 14th, a video titled “A Spicy Drinking Session Where Hardships Burst Out Like a Fountain” was released on the Comedian Shin Dong-yeop YouTube channel “Zzanbro”.
The lead actors of the new drama “A Virtuous Business,” Kim So-yeon, Kim Sung-ryung, and Yeon Woo-jin, appeared on the show and engaged in candid, mature conversations.
During the chat, Shin Dong-yeop recalled that Kim So-yeon’s wedding anniversary is on June 9th and asked, “Did you intentionally choose that date?”
After realizing the implication later, Kim So-yeon laughed and said, “I guess that’s why that date was available.”
Shin Dong-yeop then joked, “What I mean is, if you flip 6 upside down, it becomes 9, and if you flip 9 upside down, it becomes 6, so it symbolizes the couple understanding each other by putting themselves in each other’s shoes.”
The conversation then turned to on-screen chemistry, with Shin Dong-yeop asking, “A hairstylist I know claims they can tell with 100% certainty if actors are really dating by watching their kiss scenes. They say there’s supposed to be a psychological distance in filming kiss scenes, but if the actors are too close, it means they’re really dating. Is that true?”
Kim So-yeon, who met Lee Sang-woo on a drama set before becoming a real-life couple, shyly admitted, “That’s true. Around the time we were dating, we had a crosswalk kiss scene. Even though it was a full shot filmed from across the street, where people appear small, we kissed too passionately for real.”
Continuing her candid revelations, Kim So-yeon shared, “After we got married, my husband had a kiss scene in another drama first, and I felt jealous. His gaze looked too warm. When I told him about it, he asked why I wasn’t understanding.”
She went on, “Later, I had many intense kiss scenes, and my husband said, ‘Now I understand how you felt.’ So we came to an agreement. On days with love scenes, we’d go in and out of the room while watching the broadcast. We try our best not to watch each other’s love scenes.”
She further explained, “When my husband was filming the drama ‘Red Balloon,’ there was an intense bed scene. I was in the room and came across the clip. I couldn’t help but watch it. But my husband looked so cool. I didn’t feel jealous; he looked so beautiful, and I was impressed by how well he maintained his body at that age.”
She then revealed the challenges of being an actor couple, saying that she and her husband has “developed a system” when it comes to kissing and intimate scenes.
The conversation then shifted to Kim Sung-ryung asking Yeon Woo-jin, “Do you have any thoughts about marrying an actor?”, to which the latter replied, “I didn’t have such thoughts before. I used to think I’d prefer it if my spouse didn’t know the details of my work. I didn’t like the reality of being fully exposed, but now that I’m in my forties, I think differently,” showing an open mind towards potentially dating actors as well.
Kim Sung-ryung added her perspective, saying, “In the past, I often advised against marrying actors. These days, I sometimes envy my fellow younger actors.” She continued, “My husband really likes that I work. If I say I want to quit working, he opposes it, asking why I want to quit. If I’m not working, he calls my manager and asks why there’s no work. I’m grateful for that.”
She concluded the discussion with a light-hearted comment that made everyone laugh, saying, “I haven’t filmed many kiss scenes in my work. I’d like to do an intense one.”
