On October 11, the press conference for the JTBC drama “A Virtuous Business” (also known as “Quiet Sales”) took place at the Elliena Hotel in Nonhyeon-dong, Gangnam, Seoul. Kim So-yeon was present and posed for photos.
At the event, Kim So-yeon shared her thoughts on the K-drama, which embraces the rather novel topic of sex toys.
She said, “Since I needed to study for the drama, I visited an unmanned sex toy store with my husband (Lee Sang-woo). I had expected it to be dark and gloomy, but it was surprisingly pretty, bright, and charmingly decorated. I thought, ‘If it’s in this kind of atmosphere, I can explain it cheerfully,’ so I studied while I was there.”
Meanwhile, “A Virtuous Business” is set in 1992 in a rural village, during a time when sex was considered taboo. The K-drama follows the story of four women, the “Bangpan Sisters,” who went door-to-door to sell adult products, exploring their independence, growth, and friendship. It’s described as a bold and unconventional story of self-reliance.
Kim So-yeon, Kim Sung-ryung, Kim Sun-young, and Lee Se-hee make up the “Bangpan Sisters.” Meanwhile, Yeon Woo-jin plays a mysterious police officer from Seoul. The drama is expected to bring to light previously forbidden subjects with straightforwardness and excitement as it delves into the self-reliance and growth of these women.
“A Virtuous Business” will first air at 10:30 PM (KST) on October 12.
