At 12:00 PM on Nov 13th, a funeral hall was set up for the late Song Jae-rim in Room 2 of the St. Mary’s Hospital Funeral Home in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul. Many figures from the entertainment industry sent condolence wreaths to express their sorrow.
The funeral was held privately in Christian style and was attended by family members and fellow entertainment colleagues who were close friends of Song Jae-rim during his lifetime.
In addition, fellow actors personally accompanied the hearse to say their final goodbyes. Afterwards, the bereaved family members accompanied Song Jae-rim on the long journey to the Seoul Metropolitan Crematorium, carrying his portrait.
On this day, Song Jae-rim’s family and relatives received mourners at the hall, revealing their grief. The mourners included those who had connections with Song Jae-rim, such as actress Park Ha-sun.
A solemn and somber atmosphere surrounded the scene, where condolence wreaths filled the hall, reflecting the kind and virtuous character of the late Song Jae-rim, who was known for his good deeds.
On this day, condolence wreaths sent by fellow actors densely surrounded the late actor’s hall. Numerous entertainment colleagues, including actors So Ji-sub and Kim Soo-hyun, expressed their condolences through floral arrangements. Song Jae-rim had previously established a relationship with Kim Soo-hyun when they co-starred in the 2012 MBC drama “Moon Embracing the Sun”.
Actors from different companies joined in sending wreaths, including Jo Yeo-jeong, Han Ye-seul, Shim Yi-young from High Entertainment; Yang Jung-ah, Yoon Son-ha, Cha Ji-yeon, Park Se-young and Go Kyung-pyo from CL&Company; Kim Dong-wook, Kim Seo-hyung, Kang Han-na, Bae Jung-nam, Chae Jung-an and Han Sun-hwa from KeyEast; Jo Jung-suk, Jang Young-nam, Jung Sang-hoon from Jam Entertainment; and Ryu Seung-soo, Kang Hoon, Park Seo-ham, Shin Eun-soo and Shin Ye-eun from NPIO Entertainment.
Musical actors from PALMTREE ISLAND, including Kim Junsu, Kim So-hyun, Jung Sun-ah and Son Jun-ho, also sent condolence flowers. Until his passing, Song Jae-rim had been passionately performing as Florian Victor Clement de Gerodelle in the musical “La Rose de Versailles”, which concluded on Oct 13th. “La Rose de Versailles” was his first musical challenge, and many musical actors shared their sorrow at the loss of a fellow colleague.
Additionally, in the music industry, Jang Su-won from Sechs Kies and Tony Ahn from H.O.T. expressed their condolences. Numerous drama and film production companies and entertainment agencies, such as CJ ENM, KBS Monster Union, Studio Dragon, SLL, C-JeS, Sublime and TEAMHOPE, also joined the mourning procession. Celebrities like Hong Seok-cheon, Lee El, Lee Yoon-ji, Yoo Sun, Ahn Young-mi, Park Ho-san, Kim Min-kyo and Gilgun shared their grief through SNS.
At the same time, the tributes to Song Jae-rim from fellow celebrities are also continuing.
Actor Jung Il-woo paid tribute to his close friend Song Jae-rim, saying, “Hyung, you should be happy there. I’m sorry. Let’s meet again.” Jung Il-woo and Song Jae-rim became close friends while working on the dramas “Flower Boy Ramen Shop” and “The Moon Embracing the Sun.”
Girls’ Generation’s Choi Sooyoung conveyed her short but deep condolences, saying, “Take care of yourself like an older brother would.”
Actress Nam Bo-ra recalled his warm side, saying, “It’s a heartbreaking day to hear the news about my older brother, who used to greet me with a bright smile whenever he came and went.”
Actor Hong Seok-cheon left a heartbreaking message, saying, “I’m sad that I won’t be able to see your wonderful smile again, and I’m sorry that I wasn’t able to be a good older brother to you.”
