Knets Recall When Bang Si-hyuk Didn’t Recognize BTS’s V Amid HYBE’s Controversy

Recently, V (BTS) fans trended “HYBE apologize to V” and “HYBE respect Taehyung” on X (formerly Twitter) after documents surfaced suggesting HYBE considered exploiting V’s dating rumors with Jennie, potentially to shift focus from other BTS members’ private lives.

The document also revealed that HYBE had been tracking Sojang, a YouTuber known for defamatory content. Prosecutors recently recommended a four-year prison sentence for Sojang, following a lawsuit from V and Jungkook seeking 90 million won in damages.

HYBE is further accused of inadequate support for V’s solo album debut.

Additionally, fans also recalled the time when Bang Si-hyuk failed to recognize V.

Previously, BTS’s V appeared on SBS’s Chuseok pilot program “BTS Variety Chronicles”, which aired on September 10th, 2019, with Chairman Bang Si-hyuk. At the time, V expressed his disappointment that Chairman Bang Si-hyuk could not remember his name for a year.

V recalled, “It was after the monthly evaluation. I was going to the convenience store with RM when I ran into PD Bang Si-hyuk. I greeted him, and PD Bang Si-hyuk asked, ‘Who are you next to Nam-joon (RM)?’“

Earlier on the morning of May 13th, a media outlet reported on ADOR’s email sent to HYBE summarizing NewJeans’ parents’ suggestions to the company.

According to the email, NewJeans’ parents claimed that Chairman Bang Si-hyuk did not even acknowledge the greetings of NewJeans members when they encountered him at the company.

Parents expressed their dismay, “Every time NewJeans meets Chairman Bang Si-hyuk in the company, we don’t understand why Chairman Bang pretends not to know the members and ignores their greetings.
