Korean horror comedy Handsome Guys wins Audience Award at 57th Sitges

The horror comedy K-movie Handsome Guys won the Audience Award at the 57th Sitges Film Festival.

Handsome Guys follows best friends Sang Goo (Lee Hee Joon) and Jae Pil (Lee Sung Min), who move into a new house, dreaming of living in the countryside, only to encounter an evil spirit that had been long sealed in the basement.

Handsome Guys received the Audience Award in the Panorama section of the 57th Sitges Film Festival (Sitges – International Fantastic Film Festival of Catalonia), which took place from October 3 to October 13.

This achievement is likely attributed to the film’s unique premise of an evil spirit awakening in Jae Pil (Lee Sung Min) and Sang Goo’s (Lee Hee Joon) dream house’s basement, along with its unpredictable twists and irony and the perfect synergy of comedy and horror.

Handsome Guys was theatrically released on June 26. The K-movie is currently not available on global OTTs.
