On a bright and sunny Sunday afternoon (Oct 27), family members, relatives and colleagues gathered to funeral service of the beloved actress Kim Soo Mi who recently passed away.
The deceased star’s funeral was held at Hanyang University Hospital located within Seongdong-gu, Seoul.
Among the family members were Kim’s husband, Chang-gyu Jeong; her son, Myung-ho Jeong; and daughter-in-law, actress Hyo-rim Seo.
Those who knew and loved Kim, 75, remembered her fondly as a person who died of cardiac arrest caused by hyperglycemic shock.
Seo became emotional during the service and shouted out, “I’m so sorry, Mom. ” As she reminisced about Kim’s deep impact on her life, she said, “Please don’t go.”
The funeral procession was led by entertainment bigwigs, including broadcasters Jung Joon-ha and Jang Dong-min, a sign of the great esteem in which Kim was held in show business circles, along with the other actors, such as Shin Hyun-Joon, Yeom Jung-ah, and Jo In-sung, who sent wreaths of condolences.

Choi Bul-am, who worked alongside Kim for many years, reflected on her being “beautiful and talented” during the service. He said: “She was an imaginative actress who understood how to play old.
Kim Soo Mi was a 1970s debutante who progressed to stardom through various trending domestic dramas, “Country Diary” and “Hello, Francesca.”
Throughout the decades of her career, she became a household name in South Korea. Speaking on behalf of the family, her son thanked those who had been there for them through the years.
“For her whole life, she was a mom to us all,” he told Fox News. Thank you for all the years of support; we will not forget it.
A burial site has been designated for Kim at Honor Stone in the Gyeonggi Province-based Yongin Park.
