Lee Chae-young Reflects on Hiatus and Health Struggles: “I’m Starting Over with Gratitude”

She continued, “I’ve had moments of frustration, letting go of good opportunities because I wasn’t in a perfect state. But I promise to work hard on every small task given to me, starting from the beginning, to earn your love again. Thank you so much for your understanding and kind words. Wishing everyone a good night.”

Back in February, when a fan commented, “Chae-young, please stop traveling and get back to work. I miss you,” Lee Chae-young responded candidly, “In 2023, I overworked myself, which caused small issues with my physical and mental health.” She elaborated, “Last year, I only completed pre-scheduled commitments, stepped away from ongoing programs, and took time for myself. Through this process, I realized that health and happiness are the most important things in life. I’m learning to cherish my life and, though it may not be visible yet, I’m living diligently in many ways. I hope you can understand.”

When another fan echoed her sentiment, saying, “The most important things in life are health and happiness,” Lee Chae-young replied, “That’s the answer I found, though it might not be universal. No, it’s not wrong—just different. Above all, stay healthy, especially mentally. Take care of your mental health.”

Born in 1986, Lee Chae-young debuted in 2007 with the SBS drama Witch Yoo Hee and went on to star in Wife Returns, Empress Cheonchu, Man in a Veil, often shining as a villain in daily dramas. After appearing in the 2023 dramas **Woman in the Veil **and Family: The Unbreakable Bond and the 2024 film Punggi, she paused her acting career.
