A businessman in his 40s, who delivered 350 million won in cash on behalf of Lee Sun-kyun, appeared in court as a witness.
The businessman, identified as A, who was reportedly an elementary school junior of Lee Sun-kyun, testified on September 5th at the 6th trial held at Incheon District Court. A said, “My older brother (Lee Sun-kyun) was in tremendous pain due to the threats and just wanted it to end by delivering the money.“
On this day, two women, identified as B (30, female, adult entertainment establishment manager) and C (29, female, former movie actress), who were charged with blackmailing Lee Sun-kyun, appeared in court. They are accused of extorting 300 million won and 50 million won, respectively, from Lee Sun-kyun.
A testified, “I liked him (Lee Sun-kyun) so much, so I wanted to help him by delivering the money.” He added, “The fear and stress from the threats were overwhelming, and I am still receiving treatment and medication because of it.“
Regarding the source of the funds, A stated, “The 300 million won and 50 million won in cash were brought by Lee Sun-kyun’s agency representative by car, and I handed the money to the defendants at a restaurant on separate dates.”
He further explained, “B assured that the situation would end once the money was handed over and even signed a document taking full responsibility for any future occurrences.“
A became emotional while testifying about Lee Sun-kyun, pausing at times, and struggled to continue.
The next hearing for the case is scheduled for 4:30 PM on October 7th at Incheon District Court.
Meanwhile, Lee Sun-kyun was found dead near Waryong Park in Jongno-gu, Seoul on December 27th last year.
