Since 2022, LOONA has been on an indefinite hiatus following the successful lawsuits of all 12 members against Blockberry Creative. Though the girls are now signed to different agencies, Blockberry Creative has stated that they will continue to file lawsuits against the members to ban them from all entertainment activities within South Korea. With that, LOONA’s fandom, Orbits, has chosen to boycott all of LOONA’s official music on various platforms so that royalties do not land in the hands of Blockberry Creative.

LOONA 1/3 Spotify Gets Hacked

On May 2, 2024, it was discovered that the Spotify profile of LOONA 1/3 was hacked.

LOONA 1/3 was the first LOONA sub-unit and consisted of Haseul, Heejin, Hyunjin, and Vivi. As a sub-unit, the girl group released two mini-albums: “Love & Live” and the reissue, “Love & Evil.”

While the members and their discography are well-loved among Orbits, many have opted out of streaming their music on any platform, as the royalties from streaming will likely go to Blockberry Creative. Many believe that the money they receive could be used to file lawsuits against the LOONA members. Instead, fans have chosen to download their songs and listen to the MP3 files.

However, some people still end up listening to them on Spotify. After all, they have over 44,000 monthly listeners on the platform. It seems one Orbit had enough of it and hacked into the group’s Spotify profile to change their “About” section.

In the “About” section, they urged people to not stream any of the group’s music except for “You and Me Together” and informed potential listeners that the money would be used by the company to file lawsuits against the members. They linked a different Spotify account, which features all of LOONA’s discography for fans to turn to.

“You and Me Together” is notably the only song on the album not produced by someone tied to Blockberry Creative, which is likely why it is not part of the boycott.

LOONA’s Last Release as a Group

LOONA’s last release as a group was in June 2022. The group released a special summer mini-album titled “Flip That,” with a lead single of the same name. The album was released just a day after the finale of “Queendom 2” was aired, in which LOONA placed as runner-up.

They were supposed to make a comeback in January 2023 with a mini-album titled “[0].” However, due to the backlash from fans, the comeback was postponed indefinitely.
