Love in the Big City — a relatively new K-drama for the LGBTQIA+ community that just dropped and soon after triggered debates around social media after an especially hot moment from Episode 4 went viral.
Starring Jin Ho Eun and Nam Yoon Su, the series is about a gay man, Go Young, who lives together with his straight female roommate Mi Ae.
The series centers around Go Young (Nam Yoon Su), who grows while trying to figure out how to deal with a family denying his homosexuality and the outside world’s false expectations. It was based on a novel of the same title.
After a burdensome separation from his heartthrob lover Gyu Ho (Jin Ho Eun), Go Young embarks on an eye-opening journey of self-exploration in Thailand.

Though there was a lot of backlash in the form of homophobic sentiments, the series continued to be streamed as it had very real accounts featuring same-sex relations.
The scene that caught the attention of viewers for its heated atmosphere is when Go Young reunites with his second Love, Young Soo, after a fight, and it quickly becomes a hot moment.
Although the scene is not of sexual act per se, the drama has become a hot topic for its relatively well-open approach compared to other queer K-dramas that depicted more reserved representations.
Reactions to its rawness ranged from shock to admiration on social media, with many viewers exclaiming their disbelief at how ‘brave’ the show was.
A user commented, “Wow I have never seen a K-drama get this In your face,” while another added, “My jaw is on the floor.”
The entire run of consists of eight episodes, which are now all streaming on Rakuten Viki.
