Global K-drama hit “Marry My Husband” is getting a Japanese makeover — and it’s set to make waves again, this time on Amazon Prime Video.
CJ ENM announced that a Japanese version of the beloved drama will premiere this June 27, featuring a star-studded cast and production team.

The upcoming series is based on the popular Naver web novel, which was previously adapted into a tvN drama in 2024 by Studio Dragon. The story, centered on betrayal, time travel, and revenge, captured viewers with its gripping narrative. It topped the ratings for Monday-Tuesday dramas on tvN and was named the 3rd best Korean drama of 2024 by UK pop culture outlet NME.
In the Japanese remake, the leading roles will be played by Fuka Koshiba, a rising star in Japan, and top actor Takeru Satoh, known for his intense performances. Directing the project is Ahn Gil-ho, the critically acclaimed director of The Glory, while the screenplay is written by Satomi Oshima. CJ ENM JAPAN and Studio Dragon are in charge of planning, with Jiyuro Pictures and Shochiku handling production.

The series is a collaborative venture between top Korean creatives and Japanese cast and crew, reinforcing CJ ENM’s commitment to global co-productions. Celebrating its 30th anniversary, CJ ENM stated its ambition to open a new chapter in international storytelling.
“As K-dramas continue to receive global acclaim, we’re actively developing various projects,” a CJ ENM representative shared. “This Korea-Japan joint production will bring a fresh wave to the global content market.”
The remake will consist of 10 episodes and will be exclusively available on Amazon Prime Video in Japan and worldwide. Details regarding its domestic Korean release are to be announced.
