Here’s a case where a younger brother turned down such an offer from his actress sister. The actress in question is none other than Moon Chae-won.
In the past, Moon Chae-won appeared on a TV show where she shared that she is four years older than her younger brother. She explained, “My brother went abroad to study when he was in middle school, so we didn’t spend much time together. Because of that, I always had a special fondness for him. When he came back to Korea occasionally, I was happy, but he’s not the type to show his feelings as much as I do.”
She added humorously, “Now, we’re just like any other siblings. He’s still single, and honestly, I don’t find his looks particularly remarkable,” drawing laughter from the audience.
When the host asked, “When your brother was in the army, didn’t you want to boost his morale by letting others know, ‘My sister is Moon Chae-won’?” she replied, “I wanted to, but my brother refused,” revealing her disappointment.
Previously, during the airing of the drama Good Doctor, Moon Chae-won mentioned her brother: “It seems Good Doctor is really popular in the army. My younger brother, who is currently serving, talks about it a lot. I’m grateful. I feel like I should visit him in the army, especially now that the drama has ended. I’m thinking of going to see him soon.”
She further shared, “Actually, I’ve visited my brother before during his military service. When he was allowed to leave briefly, I secretly stayed nearby and just saw him for a little while. I often wonder how he’s doing, whether he’s healthy or not. It’s the kind of worry any sister would have.” Her words warmed hearts.
