My Name is Loh Kiwan: Song Joong-ki’s Stirring Drama Film All Set For Netflix Release

Talented actor Song Joong-ki is all set to make waves once more in the movie My Name is Loh Kiwan (로기완) and fans are beyond excited. Starring Joong-ki along with Choi Sung-eun, Jo Han-chul, Kim Sung-ryung, Lee Il-hwa and others, the movie follows Loh Ki-wan, who, after defecting from North Korea, lands in Belgium. However, once there, he struggles to get refugee status and eventually meets a woman is a similar predicament.

The teaser of the movie was released today and it’s already shaping up to be an intense drama that will keep audiences enthralled throughout Ki-wan and Marie’s journey. In the 1:31 minute-long teaser, we see Ki-wan’s journey from North Korea to Belgium and the struggles that come with it. We see him fleeing from the police in North Korea with his mother, during which she gets into a horrible accident. He eventually finds himself in Belgium and struggles to adjust and stay alive in a foreign land as a refugee with little to no help.

After getting very little food and no place to stay, an accident of some sort results in all of his documents being destroyed and his identity comes under scrutiny. As he struggles to prove who he is in a foreign land, he meets a woman Marie who seems to be in a similar problem but has lost all hope. Together, they make it their mission to survive and try to thrive in the unknown land so that this tough journey doesn’t go in vain.

The teaser, in its short runtime, has proven to be a hard-hitting and difficult watch as you see Ki-wan’s heartbreak and resilience in every frame as he uses sheer willpower to survive. Although it is impossible to know the entire plot from a short teaser, there is no doubt that the movie will be quite an emotional and dramatic watch.

My Name is Loh Kiwan is set to release on Netflix on March 01, 2024.
