The image, which depicted a provocative cartoon of a woman’s lower body with balloon illustrations, was quickly deleted, but not before screenshots began circulating widely across social media.
Nam Yoon-su Responds Quickly, Denies Intentional Post
Nam Yoon-su responded promptly through a fan communication platform, expressing confusion and concern over the incident. “I was driving and suddenly got messages from fans asking, ‘What is this repost?’ I thought I’d been hacked,” he wrote. “Something strange got uploaded, but thankfully fans let me know. I didn’t even realize I had pressed anything—it might’ve been a malicious ad.”
To back up his claim, Nam Yoon-su shared a screenshot of his Instagram feed showing only typical algorithm suggestions and no trace of the explicit content. He emphasized that he had no idea the post was shared and reiterated that he did not intentionally upload anything inappropriate.
Agency Clarifies Incident as Accidental, Actor Issues Apology
As online speculation continued, Nam Yoon-su issued a second apology through his Instagram Story:
I was unaware that such an offensive post had been reposted. I sincerely apologize to everyone who was made uncomfortable. I’ll be more cautious moving forward.
His agency also released a statement, explaining, “It seems the post may have been accidentally shared due to the phone being pressed while in his pocket during driving. Upon noticing the post, both Nam Yoon-su and our team acted quickly to delete it. We deeply regret any discomfort caused.”
Nam Yoon-su rose to fame with roles in “Extracurricular” and “The King’s Affection,” and more recently earned praise for his portrayal of Go Young in the 2023 TVING drama “Love in the Big City,” a story exploring same-sex romance. He is currently preparing for the release of his upcoming film “Killing Time”, set to premiere later this year.
While the Instagram mishap stirred momentary concern, Nam Yoon-su’s prompt communication and honesty have helped maintain the trust of his fanbase.
