On Sep 15th, Danielle changed her status on the fan communication app Phoning. The updated status included hearts representing the five NewJeans members and a hat emoji symbolizing former ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin.
Previously, on Sep 11th, NewJeans directly mentioned Chairman Bang Si-hyuk and HYBE during a live broadcast, expressing their desire for ADOR’s normalization. They also requested Min Hee-jin’s reinstatement as CEO, adding that they hoped for a wise decision by Sep 25th.
In response, HYBE’s CEO Lee Jae-sang stated at a shareholders’ meeting on Sep 12th, “It will take time, but we are responding calmly according to principles. HYBE is a company that adheres to principles and pursues fair management, and our stance will not change.”
On Sep 14th, BTS Jungkook posted a photo of his dog with the caption “Artists are not guilty,” and added another post saying “Don’t use them.”
Jungkook also included hearts emojis representing the NewJeans members, which drew attention as it was similar to the heart emojis Hanni had used in her Phoning status.
As various speculations arose due to Jungkook’s captions, BigHit Music, BTS’s agency, clarified on Sep 14th, saying, “It was confirmed that the post was made with the belief that no young artist should be dragged into disputes or used as a shield.”
Earlier, Cosmic Girls member Dawon and S.E.S’s Bada also gained attention for their supportive posts about NewJeans.
With Danielle also expressing support for NewJeans members and former CEO Min Hee-jin, the direction of the situation moving forward is closely watched.
