On October 25, NewJeans received the Frontier Award at the “11th Edaily Culture Awards” held at the Sejong Center for the Performing Arts Grand Theater in Jongno-gu, Seoul.
The “Edaily Culture Awards,” hosted by news outlet Edaily and organized by the “Kwak Jea-sun Foundation for Cultures”, is an awards ceremony that encompasses six performance categories including theater, classical music, dance, traditional Korean music, musicals, and concerts.
During the ceremony, NewJeans member Hyein became emotional as she expressed, “We’re grateful to receive such a special award at this meaningful event. Through this career, I’ve realized just how many wonderful people there are around us.” She continued, fighting back tears, “Personally, I believe this profession is only possible with the help of many people, and it’s a special career where we get to create memories one by one with wonderful people, including our Bunnies (fandom name). I recently realized that we can’t always experience these special moments.”
Furthermore, Hyein shared, “We’re thankful that we can do what we love in front of people who show us so much love. The five of us didn’t know we would come together like this, but we’ve become special to each other and are working hard to create great performances.”
She concluded her acceptance speech by saying, “We’re grateful for all the people who help us pursue what we want to do. As we’ve received this special award, we hope to become a NewJeans that can naturally blend into people’s daily lives through our special songs.”
