On Sep 8th, the second day of the 2024 THE FACT MUSIC AWARDS (TMA) took place at Kyocera Dome Osaka in Japan.
NewJeans received the prestigious awards for Artist of the Year, Musinsa Popularity Award, and World Best Performer. In addition to expressing their gratitude to their fans, NewJeans also thanked Min Hee-jin.
After receiving the Popularity Award, Danielle said, “It is truly an honor to receive such a wonderful award. Many people helped us get to this stage, and I am grateful to our amazing staff, overseas staff, and performance directors. Above all, I really love and appreciate our Bunnies.“
She added, “We really love and thank our CEO Min Hee-jin, who always cherishes and protects us.”
Additionally, Hyein took the mic and said, “I want to say this because I think it’s the last chance. Thank you so much to our CEO. I love you very much.“
Meanwhile, former CEO Min Hee-jin was dismissed from Ador’s board on August 27. While Ador announced that Min Hee-jin would retain her role as an internal director and continue her work with NewJeans, Min’s side opposed this as a unilateral notice and an unfair contract. However, Ador emphasized that “the Ador board’s decisions, notifications, and voting were conducted in accordance with the law and company regulations.“
Following the dismissal, the members shared their feelings. Minji expressed through the fan communication platform Phoning, “I couldn’t stand the heat and was hoping summer would end soon, but now that the sky is high and autumn is coming, I feel a bit uneasy. It has already been about a week since such events occurred, and I wanted to go and tell you all about them, but I couldn’t.“

She continued, “I wanted to tell and comfort many Bunnies who worry about us, but I wasn’t confident this time. It is frustrating that we have to go through unnecessary troubles when even a day isn’t enough to talk about only good things.“
Danielle also confessed, “In fact, after CEO Min Hee-jin’s dismissal, we have faced many difficulties and concerns. I felt very anxious. I always wanted to show only bright and happy sides to our Bunnies.”
