No Gain No Love Episode 3 Recap

The episode kicks off right where it ended last time, with Kim Ji-uk stepping out of the fitting room in his groom outfit, leaving everyone completely mesmerized by how handsome he looks. Even Son Hae-yeong, his supposed bride, is taken aback by his appearance. An U-jae and Kwon I-rin are equally surprised. As they leave the shop, we get a playful exchange between Hae-yeong and Ji-uk, where she teasingly asks why he never mentioned he was so good-looking, hidden away in his part-time uniform and glasses.

We then move on to Bok Gyu-hyun’s mother, who is caught reading Nam Ja-yeon’s adult web novel. When Gyu-hyun walks in, she quickly hides the notepad, and they end up discussing company matters. She sternly reminds him not to let any unmarried woman get close to him or his father, suggesting that he might inherit his father’s reckless tendencies.

At the office, Son Hae-yeong hands out her wedding invitations. As she does this, her coworkers become curious about the groom, especially after hearing from An U-jae and Kwon I-rin that he’s incredibly handsome. They bombard her with questions about how they met, when he proposed, and why she isn’t wearing a proposal ring. To dodge these questions, she simply invites them to come to the wedding and find out for themselves.

After work, Hae-yeong makes her way to the convenience store and asks Ji-uk to propose to her. He bluntly refuses, reminding her that this is a fake wedding. This leads to a humorous back-and-forth, with Hae-yeong insisting and Ji-uk continually denying. Taking the office gossip to heart, she decides to stage a series of fake dates, posing in front of cameras in a way that suggests she’s with someone, just to make the wedding look authentic.

Things take a twist when Hae-yeong goes back to the convenience store and finds it empty. Suddenly, the lights go out, and she realizes someone has locked her inside. A trail of lights appears on the floor, guiding her to Ji-uk, who is standing under a sign made from red and white plastic cups spelling out “Will you marry me?” The store is filled with her favourite gummy candies, and a toy train carries a gummy ring. Ji-uk proposes, and of course, she says yes.

The wedding day finally arrives, and we see all the foster children Hae-yeong’s mother had helped over the years attending the ceremony. This reunion of sorts makes Nam Ja-yeon realize that while the wedding might be fake, it’s also serving as a heartwarming moment for Hae-yeong’s mom to see all the children she’s cared for. As the wedding concludes, Hae-yeong and Ji-uk agree to divorce.

But just as they are about to part ways, An U-jae and Kwon I-rin arrive, and Hae-yeong has to think quickly. She says she’s waiting for a taxi to the hotel, but they offer her a ride. She manages to decline and then convinces Ji-uk to accompany her to avoid any suspicion from Kwon I-rin. They end up at the hotel together.

The episode’s epilogue brings a surprising twist: during the wedding, when Ji-uk hugs Hae-yeong’s mother, she recognizes him and calls his name, hinting that he was one of the foster children she once helped. This suggests that Hae-yeong and Ji-uk might have known each other from childhood, adding a new layer to their relationship.

No Gain No Love Episode 3 Review

Episode 3 of No Gain No Love brings a delightful mix of humor, romance, and unexpected revelations. The chemistry between Son Hae-yeong and Kim Ji-uk continues to shine, especially in the scenes where they playfully bicker and tease each other. The fake proposal scene in the convenience store is definitely a highlight — it’s sweet, and creative, and gives us a glimpse into how their dynamic is evolving from purely comedic to something more heartfelt.

The subplot involving Bok Gyu-hyun’s mother reading an adult web novel and her warnings about unmarried women around her son and husband add a touch of drama and humour to the mix. It’s these little moments that flesh out the supporting characters, adding depth to the story and making it more engaging.
