In the previous episode of No Gain No Love, Ji-uk moved into Hae-yeong’s house to make their marriage arrangement appear more genuine. At work, they also pretended to be a loving couple to avoid any suspicion. However, An U-jae began to grow jealous and questioned the authenticity of their relationship. This led Hae-yeong to take steps that Ji-uk wasn’t entirely comfortable with. During the housewarming party, we saw Ji-uk and Hae-yeong share a kiss, but have they truly accepted their feelings for each other?

Meanwhile, Gyu-hyun and Ja-yeon grew closer and more comfortable with each other. However, things took a turn when Gyu-hyun discovers that Ja-yeon had feelings for Ha-jun, and she found out that Gyu-hyun is actually Hae-yeong’s boss. Yeo Ha-jun’s presence complicates matters further, making Ja-yeon feel the need to keep her true feelings hidden.

The episode begins with Ja-yeon and Ha-jun visiting their old school, reminiscing about the past. Ha-jun then asks Ja-yeon why she transferred schools back then. This leads to a flashback of Ja-yeon’s traumatic past, where she was hiding in a cupboard after her biological father found out where her foster home was. He was aggressive toward Hae-yeong’s parents, but they managed to protect Ja-yeon by helping her transfer schools and relocate to another foster home so her father wouldn’t find her again.

Back in the present, Ja-yeon is walking home alone when she panics upon seeing An U-jae standing outside. She immediately calls Hae-yeong for help. Meanwhile, after the unexpected first kiss between Ji-uk and Hae-yeong in the previous episode, we learn that An U-jae saw Ji-uk heading to the rooftop with his bag. To make the wedding look genuine, Hae-yeong gives Ji-uk a quick peck. Ji-uk, annoyed by her explanation, questions how she could kiss him without feeling anything. In his frustration, he kisses her again—this time, passionately—stating that if she wants to make their marriage appear real, he can do it too.

The next morning, Ji-uk and Hae-yeong continue their bickering, clearly still upset over the previous night’s events. We get some hilarious moments, including an argument over opening a jar and a roundtable discussion about the kiss. Later, Ji-uk visits Hae-yeong’s mom, who rants about her daughter’s impulsiveness. When her mom remembers Ja-yeon, they share a sweet conversation that lightens the mood.

Gyu-hyun misses Ja-yeon, as she hasn’t contacted him in a while. Just when he’s about to message her, she calls, asking him to meet her at the police station. There, she tells him that she will drop the charges against him and apologizes. She warns him not to harm Hae-yeong because of her. Gyu-hyun then reveals that he came to meet the person he had been leaving hate comments for—not Hae-yeong’s sister.

As Ja-yeon insists they should never meet again, she suddenly spots her father nearby. Terrified, she grabs Gyu-hyun’s hand and they run. Later, we see her scared and shaken on the side of the road. To comfort her, Gyu-hyun sings to her, showing a caring side she hadn’t seen before.

The next day, Ji-uk and Hae-yeong’s playful teasing continues as they head to the office. During a presentation, Hae-yeong showcases her confident and strong persona, emphasizing her hardworking nature. However, it’s clear that Gyu-hyun has fallen for Ja-yeon and isn’t happy that they can’t meet anymore.

Hae-yeong takes Ji-uk shopping for a bed, wanting him to sleep comfortably instead of on the cold floor. During their shopping trip, we witness some sweet, domestic moments between them. Hae-yeong tells Ji-uk she wants him to live comfortably, to which Ji-uk responds by admitting he likes her, knowing she feels the same way.

Ja-yeon then discovers that not all the hate comments came from Gyu-hyun. In fact, the one comment that hurt her the most and prompted her to file a complaint was made by Ha-jun. She’s left heartbroken, realizing that someone she liked was behind the hurtful words. Meanwhile, An U-jae’s wife grows suspicious of his behaviour. She notices that he knows too much about Hae-yeong and seems overly happy when preparing for a work event with her, raising her doubts even further.

Elsewhere, a mysterious man warns Ji-uk that Bok Gyu-hyun’s mother has learned his true identity, suggesting that he needs to be careful to protect both himself and his wife. Ji-uk considers telling Hae-yeong but decides to wait. Together, they start decorating the rooftop room, leading to another romantic moment between them. Just as they’re about to kiss, Gyu-hyun bursts in, demanding to know if Ji-uk is his stepbrother, his father’s illegitimate child.

This episode is packed with emotional revelations and intense character moments. Ja-yeon’s flashback gives us a deeper understanding of her traumatic past and the reason behind her fear of her father. The show handles this storyline with sensitivity, making us feel for Ja-yeon’s struggles and the sacrifices Hae-yeong’s parents made to protect her.

The interactions between Ji-uk and Hae-yeong are both amusing and heartfelt. Their relationship is evolving from a fake marriage to something more genuine, with both of them wrestling with their feelings. The back-and-forth teasing and the heated arguments keep the chemistry alive, adding layers to their dynamic. Ji-uk’s frustration and the subsequent kiss reveal his growing emotions, making their relationship more complex and real.

Gyu-hyun’s actions in this episode were surprising, showing a caring side that contrasts sharply with the aggressive persona Ja-yeon initially perceived. His serenade to comfort her was a sweet moment, highlighting his depth as a character. However, the revelation about Ha-jun being the one behind the hurtful comment adds a shocking twist, leaving Ja-yeon—and the audience—reeling.

An U-jae’s storyline adds a layer of mystery and tension, with his wife’s growing suspicions setting the stage for more drama. Ji-uk’s encounter with the mysterious man hints at a dangerous secret that could threaten his newfound relationship with Hae-yeong.
