Oh My Ghost Clients Episode 3 Recap

In Oh My Ghost Clients Episode 3, Mu-jin’s bewildering journey between the realms of the living and the dead continues, pulling him deeper into the obligations of the afterlife. The episode begins with Mu-jin waking up once again in the stark, mysterious white room with Bong-sal, the eccentric guide between worlds. Bong-sal bluntly reminds him of the supernatural contract he signed in Episode 1—he is bound to serve ghost clients for six months. When Mu-jin protests, Bong-sal produces the contract and points out the ominous clause: failure to comply will result in death. Mu-jin tries to read the elusive tenth clause, but before he can decipher it, Bong-sal snatches it away and sends him hurtling back to Earth.

Back in the hospital, Mu-jin is discharged after doctors find nothing medically wrong. Yet Hui-joo, who’s beginning to trust Mu-jin’s ghost-seeing claims, grows increasingly worried. Mu-jin tells her that the man in flaming jeans who saved him—Bong-sal, was the one who trapped him in this spectral agreement. On their way back, Mu-jin seems tense, haunted—quite literally—by a persistent female spirit who won’t leave his side.
That night, Mu-jin returns to the office alone and is immediately possessed by the ghost: a former nurse named Cho Eun-yeong. Meanwhile, Hui-joo and her sister Mi-joo bump into Gyeon-u and, after a heated sibling spat, end up sharing soju and grilled beef. Caught between the two, Gyeon-u acts as peacekeeper and escorts a drunken Hui-joo home safely. But the next morning, Hui-joo is alarmed to find Mu-jin acting completely out of character at the office—erratic, emotional, and seething with barely-contained rage.

Possessed by Eun-yeong, Mu-jin insists on going to the Join Hospital. Hui-joo, unsure but concerned, accompanies him. As soon as they arrive, Mu-jin lashes out violently at a familiar doctor, shouting accusations that seem deeply personal. Nurses rush in to sedate him, and the doctor, unnerved but confused, quickly flees. Hui-joo tries to make sense of it, only to discover Mu-jin has slipped away from his hospital bed.
Mu-jin, still channelling Eun-yeong’s anguish, hunts down the doctor and begins shouting the exact words he once used to torment her. The doctor, stunned, has no idea how Mu-jin could possibly know such things. Security intervenes, and Mu-jin, Hui-joo, and Gyeon-u are thrown out of the hospital. Mu-jin regains consciousness with no memory of what he just did—but is haunted by a vision of Eun-yeong’s lifeless body lying outside the building.

Desperate to rid Mu-jin of these ghosts, Hui-joo drags him to various religious institutions for help. A shaman tells them that a mighty General spirit walks beside Mu-jin. Sceptical, they visit a church, only to be dismissed, and then a Buddhist temple, where the trio ends up kneeling and praying so much that they’re physically and emotionally exhausted. None of it seems to work.
Later that night, Hui-joo and Gyeon-u drop Mu-jin off at his office with concern. Mu-jin reassures them he’ll be fine. On his way in, he bumps into a grocery shop owner who checks on him and reminisces about Mu-jin’s attorney days—a small, tender moment of humanity amid the chaos. At the office, Eun-yeong’s spirit reappears. Mu-jin, now more confident, asks her to stop haunting him if she truly wants his help.

Just then, Bong-sal appears and allows Eun-yeong to possess Mu-jin one last time to show him her truth. Through a vivid and painful vision, Mu-jin experiences Eun-yeong’s life: a kind, hardworking nurse relentlessly bullied by her superior. Despite raising valid medical concerns, she is scapegoated when a patient dies due to a doctor’s orders. Overwhelmed with guilt and disgrace, Eun-yeong ultimately jumps from the hospital building, ending her life in sorrow.
Mu-jin, now back in the white room, weeps as he realises the weight of Eun-yeong’s suffering. He pleads with Bong-sal to help her. Bong-sal cryptically replies that the choice lies with Mu-jin. When Mu-jin asks for guidance, Bong-sal leans in and whispers something shocking—words the audience doesn’t hear, leaving us hanging in suspense.

In the epilogue, we see Mu-jin, who once scoffed at religion, rolling a Buddhist prayer band around his phone. Despite his denial, he’s slowly beginning to believe—not just in ghosts, but in the responsibility that comes with seeing them.
Oh My Ghost Clients Episode 3 Review
The episode leans heavily into Mu-jin’s emotional transformation as he begins to confront the realities of his ghostly contract. The possession by Nurse Eun-yeong is a powerful narrative arc—her tragic story of workplace bullying and injustice is portrayed with heart-wrenching clarity, forcing both Mu-jin and the viewers to reflect on systemic cruelty and silent suffering. Bong-sal remains delightfully cryptic yet commanding, adding to the show’s strange charm and the tension of Mu-jin’s uncertain fate.

What makes this episode stand out is its increasing emotional stakes. While earlier episodes focused more on Mu-jin’s confusion and disbelief, Episode 3 grounds itself in empathy; Mu-jin not only starts believing the ghosts he’s forced to help but actively wants to bring them justice. The blend of horror, humour, and sentiment is well-paced, especially with Hui-joo and Gyeon-u’s supportive presence. The final twist, where Bong-sal whispers something unknown to Mu-jin, perfectly sets up intrigue for the next episode.
Oh My Ghost Clients is streaming on Netflix.
