Our Unwritten Seoul Episode 7 Recap

The episode picks up at Se-jin’s house, where Mi-rae, still pretending to be Mi-ji, is surprised when Se-jin says that he likes the rumours about them being together. His answer leaves her stunned, but her growling stomach breaks the tension. Se-jin cooks for her, and while waiting, Mi-rae finds a news article about him. She’s shocked to realise that Se-jin is actually Han Se-jin, the former CEO of Ilhan Corporation. Curious, she asks him why he disappeared, especially after all the terrible rumours that followed. Se-jin doesn’t give a full answer but promises to explain everything on a certain day.
Back in Seoul the next day, Ho-su meets his old boss, Mr Lee, at KMFC headquarters. During their talk, Ho-su mentions that Ro-sa still refuses to sell her land. Mr Lee hints that Ro-sa doesn’t trust Ho-su enough to share her real reason for refusing. This leaves Ho-su feeling unsettled, wondering what secret Ro-sa is hiding.

Later, Ho-su has coffee with Mi-ji, who is still pretending to be Mi-rae. Mi-ji tells him that the real Mi-ji will be joining them the following week, so he can speak openly to her then. Of course, she doesn’t realise that Ho-su already knows she’s actually Mi-ji.
That day, Mi-ji also agrees to meet Ji-yun at a café. While waiting, a strange woman sits across from her and begins mocking her. Before Mi-ji can react, Ji-yun arrives and helps her out. Mi-ji is shocked that Ji-yun knows her true identity. Ji-yun explains that she figured it out because of how Mi-ji answered a certain question – something Mi-rae wouldn’t have said. She also reveals that the woman they just saw is the wife of KMFC’s CEO, Mr Park. Apparently, Mi-rae had been falsely accused online of having an affair with him, which left Mi-ji feeling guilty for taking on a project led by Mr Park without knowing the full story.

Meanwhile, Ho-su meets Mi-rae and directly tells her that he knows she is Mi-rae, not Mi-ji. He brings up the sexual harassment case she dropped and asks if it was because she didn’t want to burden him. Mi-rae remains silent and avoids answering. Ho-su then wonders whether Mi-ji knows about any of this, but assumes she doesn’t.
Elsewhere, Ho-su’s mother and Mi-ji and Mi-rae’s mother, Ok-hui, get into a physical fight over a misunderstanding involving their children. The families rush to the hospital, where both mothers end up sharing a room to recover. When Mi-ji arrives, Ho-su secretly tells Mi-rae not to reveal that he knows their real identities, so Mi-rae keeps quiet. Inside the hospital room, Ho-su’s mother warmly greets Mi-ji, thinking she’s Mi-rae, while Ok-hui is confused by how unusually sweet her daughter is behaving. After leaving the hospital, Se-jin joins them for a meal, easily getting on Mi-ji’s good side, which leaves her curious about his connection to her twin.

After dinner, Mi-ji asks Mi-rae why she called her over. Mi-rae explains that they should switch back to their original identities the next day, leaving Mi-ji startled. Mi-rae doesn’t fully explain why, but mentions that Ho-su has known the truth from the beginning. This revelation embarrasses Mi-ji, who realises she’s been pretending unnecessarily in front of Ho-su.
Ho-su, unaware that Mi-rae has told Mi-ji the truth, continues to play along. A flashback shows how he used to watch Mi-ji’s house, hoping to see her come out after she shut herself away for years. Meanwhile, at the farm, Se-jin and Mi-rae have a small argument about responsibilities. When he mentions being forced to study abroad, Mi-rae remembers her own failed attempts at passing the civil exams. That night, she lies awake, reflecting on her life.

The next morning, Ho-su learns that Mi-rae has told Mi-ji about his knowledge. Feeling awkward, he visits the hospital with Mi-ji. Seeing Ho-su’s mother being so kind to her, Mi-ji feels guilty. Ho-su tries to talk to her, asking why she’s avoiding him, but Mi-ji struggles to find the right words and walks away. She later visits her grandmother, spending some much-needed quality time with her. Outside, she meets her best friend Gyeong-gu, who reveals that he knows she is Mi-ji. They reunite and chat about Ho-su. Gyeong-gu encourages Mi-ji to be honest about her feelings before it’s too late. That evening, Gyeong-gu also meets with Ho-su and gives him the same advice.

Meanwhile, Mi-rae prepares to leave the farm. As she says goodbye to Se-jin, he calls her Mi-rae, revealing that he too knew who she really was. Before leaving, she asks him to finally tell her why he disappeared. Se-jin takes her for tea and shares his story. On the day his grandfather passed away, Se-jin had ignored repeated calls from him because he was in an important meeting with Ilhan. Haunted by guilt for not being there, he chose to vanish and live a quiet life like his grandfather once did. Hearing this, Mi-rae reflects on how she should handle her own situation at KMFC.
Meanwhile, Mr Lee learns that Ro-sa has a son, and that her husband was killed by a friend. When he sees the friend’s name, something seems to click. Ho-su tries once more to get Ro-sa to open up about her secret but decides not to push her when she hesitates.

Later that night, Mi-rae asks Mi-ji to stay in Seoul a bit longer, and Mi-ji agrees. Mi-rae finally opens up about what she’s been through, and Mi-ji comforts her as she cries. That same evening, their grandmother Wol-sun calls Ok-hui, asking about her. But Ok-hui hangs up, upsetting Wol-sun.
Finally, Ho-su asks Mi-ji to meet him outside their house. There, he confesses his feelings, and they hold hands, starting the love story that had been delayed since their youth.
