On Nov 10th, Park Bo-young communicated with domestic and international fans through a live broadcast on the fan platform Weverse.
During the broadcast, Park Bo-young read letters sent by fans, and when she came across one lengthy letter, her emotions overwhelmed her, and her eyes began to tear up.
The letter was from a fan who had admired Park Bo-young since elementary school. It began with a metaphor saying, “The relationship between an actor and a fan is like the relationship between a forest and the trees inside it.” The fan wrote, “You look at the forest, and I am one tree within it. You may not know every single tree in the forest, but I know you love it. I’m happy to be one of the trees that grows in the forest you love.”
Park Bo-young, holding back her emotions, said, “How did they write this so well? It’s so beautifully expressed; I’m going crazy.” The heartfelt words included in the letter also stated, “It’s not just a piece of paper, but choosing a beautiful letterhead, weaving words together like a crown of flowers, and writing the letter with care.” The phrase “A letter is written when the love overflows and you can no longer contain your emotions” deeply resonated with Park Bo-young.
As Park Bo-young continued reading, she finally couldn’t hold back her tears when she read the last sentence of the letter: “I don’t know when this letter will reach you, but I hope that on the day you read it, and every day after, you’ll be ready to live well. Thank you for existing.”
Along with Park Bo-young’s tears, global fans reacted by saying, “With such literary expressions, the relationship between the fan and the actor is beautifully and deeply explained. The fan’s feelings are sincerely conveyed“, “Such a fan for such an artist” and “What a wonderful letter. I want to be a tree for the one I love too.“
Meanwhile, Park Bo-young will meet viewers through Disney+’s original series “Light Shop”, which will be released on Dec 4th. The series depicts the story of the living and the dead by connecting the world and the underworld through a store that sells lights. Park Bo-young plays the role of Young-ji, a nurse in the intensive care unit.
