Actor Park Sung Hoon recently addressed the public to apologize for the controversy regarding his posting of an adult video parody of the hit series “Squid Game.”
During an interview promoting Netflix’s upcoming “Squid Game 2,” Park, reportedly, expressed deep regret for the incident that has drawn significant backlash from fans and critics alike.
“I came here with a heavier and more nervous heart than ever before,” Park said. “I am truly sorry that I might have caused damage to the production made by the hard work of so many people, including the team, staff, and actors.”
Park took to his Instagram story last month to share a parody cover of his show “Squid Game,” subsequently drawing the wrath of social media users.
The actor explained that while preparing for a scheduled appearance, he accidentally came across an “offensive” photo in his direct messages.

He accidentally posted it to his story in a rush while chatting with a co-worker about people’s reactions to the show.
“It was during the beginning of the show’s release, and I thought it was a shocking photo and could cause problems,” he stated.
“While exchanging reactions, I think I accidentally posted it to my story.”
Park said that he did not watch the video and he also does not have a second social media account.
“I also do not have another account, so it wasn’t a mistake to try to upload it to a different account,” he said.
During the interview, the actor halted for a moment, clearly affected with emotion, recalling the incident. Park also said: “I felt a lot of regret and blamed myself for the inconvenience my mistake had caused,” Park added.
He promised to move forward in his acting career, carrying the heavy burden of his mistake, and to be more mindful of his actions in the future to prevent similar issues.
Park added that he has yet to have a phone conversation with the director of the show, but he has expressed his position on the controversy via his management company.
“I called but I couldn’t reach him,” he said. “I thought it would be right to reach out to him after the resolution.”
The director previously weighed in, adding fuel to the public debate on the incident.
