In 2023 images and videos of BTS’s V and BLACKPINK’s Jennie together in Paris were widely circulated on social media, attracting significant attention from fans. Photographer Amar Taoualit, who took the photos, recently shared his story of being attacked after sharing them.
The photographer revealed that although the videos gained traction on May 17, they were actually taken on May 15. He explained that he did not expect to encounter V and Jennie and that the photos were of poor quality because he had to use his phone.
In a recent interview, Amar shared his experience. He was conducting a routine photo shoot when a K-Pop fan informed him that V was in Paris for a CELINE event. However, he had no information about Jennie. Amar recounted that he waited for over an hour at a bus stop in front of a club after 11 PM. When he saw V and Jennie leaving and holding hands, he took a photo and immediately sent it to a friend, who responded with surprise.
Amar also mentioned that after posting the images, he faced a strong backlash from the online community. Many people sent him insulting messages questioning why he published the photos. Meanwhile, some others expressed relief that “the truth finally came out.” Amar admitted that he did not follow the couple closely and viewed the photos simply as images of celebrities.
However, Amar’s explanation sparked a significant backlash from netizens. Many questioned the photographer’s explanation, noting that it appeared inconsistent with his previous statement, where he had claimed that encountering the two idols was not intentional.
